#ThrowbackThursday – The Scooby-Doo Edition

TBT to 2005 and the Scooby-Doo Blanket When Rachel was little, she absolutely loved Scooby-Doo. In fact, she still does! Her love of this crime-solving cartoon was shared with her dad. Those two would spend hours watching episode after episode or watching the movies over and over again. They had a ball!

Rachel became more and more excited as time got closer to one of their dates, and she would start talking non-stop. She would tell you every episode they were gonna watch, then everything that happens during that episode.
I love watching when Rachel is excited about something. She is so cute! Even now, as an adult, when Rachel is excited about something, she can brighten an entire room with her energy and smile.

When Rachel was little, there was a vendor along the avenue who sold blankets. One day, Eric noticed he had a Scooby-Doo blanket hanging, so he decided to check it out. It was thick, heavy and not going to become damaged quickly. So we decided to get it for her as a “just because” gift. When he came home carrying a big box, both girls were all over him to see what was inside. Rachel was super excited when he said it was for her and even more so once she got it open. Her very own Scooby-Doo blanket! She loved this blanket. It was way bigger than her and quite heavy, but she didn’t care if she could take it with her, she did!

This blanket is probably one of her most favourite gifts that she’s ever gotten from us. I say this not because she said so, but because it is the thing she has had the longest. To this day, it is her favourite blanket. When she builds herself a little nest for movie time, it is the one she always uses. Looking at it today, you’d never guess that it was owned by a toddler 16 years ago. It is still in excellent condition!
