The Little Vixen in Loni Beach
I love our little hideaway. It has been almost a full year since we goth this place and from the moment we moved in, it was immediately home here. The neighbours have been so welcoming and nice. We live on a nice and quiet street, with the exception of the little vixen.
At first, her cries in the night scared the crap out of me. I’d never heard such a sound in my life. It was like a cross between a woman screaming for help and a pup trying to howl for the first time. I then found her a little annoying at night because she would decide to start just as I was falling asleep and it would startle me awake. Often she would come through our yard and then the cries are so close, the sound just breaks your heart.
During the day, I will find myself fascinated by her. I’ll see her run down the street, often with something in her mouth. I don’t know if she has young that she is off to feed or not, but away she’ll go with her food, too fast for me to steal a pic. Then last night I saw the oddest thing. I heard her cry a little earlier than normal, so I got up and looked out the window and there she was being chased by the dog from down the street. At first, I was quite upset because he is quite a bit bigger than her, but then I realized that they were playing together. She stopped at one of the driveways as he went back into his own yard and she cried for him to come back and play with her, so out he came and he chased her around for a bit, then he barked at her and she chased him. This went on for a few minutes until some people came walking down the street, then the little vixen went to hide in one of the yards. I could see her crouching down to hide then leaning up on the pole to make sure the coast was clear. She stayed in hiding for a while before coming back out to play. I heard her again a little while later and looked to see what was making her cry and there she was, down the street, trying to play with a black cat. She was pouncing around it like a little dog, and the cat was just sitting there, licking its paws, like they do (such asses lol). You know, the more I think about it, when I hear her cry at night, maybe all she is doing is looking for someone to play with?
I love the various experiences we are getting out here. I’m so excited to see what adventures our family will have at our little hideaway. #ekgimlihideaway #rowdythreethor #iammillixiandthisisme

Such a sweet story.
Nice to see you writting again.
Thanks mom, figured it was time.
Hey Kora-Lee
So happy you love your place in Loni, what’s not to love right!
We have had a few fox running the streets of Wpg Beach as well, one mama had two pups this year – so so cute! Some of these foxes ? are already mating with dogs when other males aren’t available. I think when they’re alone they must get lonely and if raised close to people and their pets they get used to each other – like the cat who didn’t seem too worried in your story!
As much as I love watching them I do think they should be live trapped and taken into the woods somewhere further north to live out a more natural life. Some people feed them or they get into the garbage which is unhealthy for them and they get used to it and used to people which can become dangerous especially for children as they are still wild animals. Geoff had just finished fencing in our backyard and there one was almost nose to nose with Josie – I wasn’t sure if he came to play or looking for an easy meal haha!
I love reading your writings – and I love you’ve embraced this side of you again and love doing it – but mostly I just love YOU!
Looking forward to the next one!
Take care
Love ya
Jesus loves you way way more xoxo ❤️
Your Susie
Thank you Susie <3 So far these ones seem to run when they see people, hopefully they stay that way, it is safest for them. They don't seem to be bothering the garbage either, which is more than I can say for the crows. We've had to get a can now and may have to ask the neighbours to bring it back to the house when we are away, as the crows have been getting into the garbage the last few weeks. Other than that, it has been super wonderful out here. Nice and quiet life out here.
Glad that you are enjoying the stories. Much love to you and the family.
